Casino Dene at a glance

Whose casino it is

Casino Dene is a Host First Nation casino. That term means a casino operating on First Nation reserve land in Alberta, and the province has six of them. The host of Casino Dene is Cold Lake First Nation. The casino stands on Cold Lake First Nations reserve land, south of the City of Cold Lake.

The casino began as a vision of the Denesuline (Chipewyan) Tribe of Cold Lake First Nations: an economic development plan for the Nation. An agreement with AGLC (Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis) made that plan real. Casino Dene first opened its doors to the public on September 27, 2007.

Its designated licensed charity is the Dene Ts'edi Society. On the floor there are over 250 games, including slot machines and live table games.

Opening and closing times

Casino Dene is open every day from 11 am at the latest. It closes at 2 am the next morning from Sunday to Thursday. On Friday and Saturday it closes at 3 am the next morning. A night that starts on Friday ends at 3 am on Saturday morning.

Whether the doors open earlier than 11 am is not confirmed. The local number to call is 780-594-7900.

Casino Dene publishes no separate hours for its table games, its poker or the Aurora Bar and Lounge. Holiday hours are not published, so check them on casinodene.com or by phone before a holiday visit. All times here are local Mountain time.
